Mother Eddie Mae Boone Burns was born in Jesup, GA, on September 21, 1937, to the late Tom and Helen Boone. She received her education in Wayne County Public Schools and attended St. John First Born Church of the Living God.
Eddie Mae married the late Elder William Burns in 1959. Following the passing of her mother, Helen Boone, Eddie Mae relocated to Savannah, GA. She was a loving and devoted mother to four children: three daughters and one son. Because she had the heart of a servant, she was always involved in various ministries and work throughout her years. These included Minister of the Gospel, Musician, Seamstress, Secretary and more. Her service did not end there. She later went on to become Brunswick’s District Mother for a few years, then Pastor of Singleton Temple First Born Church of the Living God.
Later, Mother Burns surrendered the Pastoral position and became a devout and faithful Mother of the Savannah Temple FBC, serving under the leadership of Bishop C. C.
Singleton. Loyal to the Gospel Ministry, her church family joyfully transitioned to New Jerusalem New Order Greater Faith Ministries some time later. At that time, she
became General Mother where she mentored mothers, deacons, deaconesses, ministers, and evangelists. This ministry position allowed her the opportunity to help so
many others find their proper place in serving in the Kingdom of God and their families.
Mother Burns was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Helen Boone; fourteen brothers and sisters, husband the later Elder William Burns, and one daughter, Martha Eugene Burns Turner.
Remaining to carry on her legacy and cherish her memories are her children: daughter, Marian Louise Burns Miles, one son, Mark Kenneth (Sondra) Burns, and daughter,
Elizabeth Marie Jones Brown; Eight grandchildren: April Keturah (Jeron) Turner Williams, Vincent Edward Miles, Jr., William Shanard Miles, Kendra Tawanna (Raysha)
Burns Lonon, Justin Elijah Burns, Jesseca Marie Burns, Diamond Jernard Jones, and Trevor McKenzie Burns along with seventeen (17) great-grandchildren.
Our beloved mother gained many spiritual daughters and sons on her ministry journey, including a longtime friend and sister, Mother Mary Andrews, as well as a host of
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
