Brent Allen Ellis was born to Jimmy Ellis and Judy Fuquay in Jesup, Georgia on July 27, 1968.
Brent joined St. John Holiness Church at an early age, dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized by Bishop A. J. Myles. He was active in the church from his youth into adulthood. He was a part of the Y.P.C.W. and youth choir and was the church percussionist until he left to attend Tennessee State University on a swimming scholarship.
Brent was a graduate of Wayne County High Schools Class of 1986. While in High School, Brent was a cadet in the Jr. R.O.T.C. program, he played basketball, and was on the Wayne County Swim Team. Brent was also a lifeguard. Brent was a cross country truck driver for years and a chef while in Nashville, Tennessee. Brent had a passion and natural talent that was passed down to him for cutting hair which led him to further his education and become a Master Barber. Brent owned and operated “Brush Cuts Barbershop” where he serviced many loyal customers from Jesup, and surrounding counties.
Brent passed away suddenly on Monday, January 2, 2023, at his residence. Brent was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Ellis, grandparents, Earlene and DeWitt Fuquay, and Inez and James Ellis, Sr., Aunts, Sandra Wright, Jacqueline Stovall, and Gloria Woodward, and Uncle, James Ellis, Jr.
Brent leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted mother, Judy Jackson, sons, Ryan Ellis, Murfreesboro, TN and Allen Ellis; daughter, Kylie Wilkerson, Jesup, GA, brothers, Remond Hardy (Carolyn), Jesup, GA, Greg Dasher (Lisa) Cheltenham, MD, Patrick Adkins, Jesup, GA, and Brandon Henry, Atlanta, GA, sisters, Carla Mathis (Kelly) Brunswick, GA, and Robin Moody-Ransey (Carl) Fitzgerald, GA. A host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the St. John Holiness Church, (386 W. Poplar St, Jesup, GA 31545), with Pastor Stanley Carter officiating.
Mr. Ellis will lie in repose 1- hour prior to funeral time.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2022, at the Community Chapel Funeral Home of Jesup.
Masks are required as for attendees.
