Mr. David Lee Roberts Jr.

U.S. Army Veteran, David Lee Roberts, Jr. was born on September 20, 1959, to the parentage of Deacon David Lee Roberts, Sr. and the late Mrs. Eula Mae Sutton Jones in Jesup, Georgia. He received his formal education in the Wayne County School System. He was a native of Wayne County and long-time resident of Walthourville, Georgia.

David, who was affectionately known by many as Jr. After graduating from high school in the class of 1978, Jr. joined the U.S. Army and honorably served his country for 8 years as a Cannon Crewman (Field Artillery). While faithfully and honorably serving his country, Jr. was injured. As a result of his injury, he was separated as a Disabled Veteran. While serving, he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Badge. After returning from his tour of duty, he worked several years for the State of Georgia. Afterwards, he then held several jobs in Savannah, Georgia. For the last several years, he was a custodian for the Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, Georgia.   

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Roberts and his mother Mrs. Eula Mae Sutton Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted son; Josh Roberts, grand-daughter; Iyonne Roberts whom he loved dearly; his caring and devoted parents; Deacon David and Annie Roberts of Jesup, Georgia, 5 brothers; Edwin (Ashante) Roberts of Jesup, Georgia, Jerry (Donna) Roberts of Walthourville, Georgia, Earl (Sandra) Roberts of Grossosthein Germany, Jerome Roberts of Hinesville, Georgia and Lejuan Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia, 2 sisters; Pamela (Rev. Dr. Christopher) West of Kathleen, Georgia and Santina (Garland) Ingram of Atlanta, Georgia. 10 aunts; Rose (Alfred) James of Jesup, Georgia, Cathy Roberts of Washington D.C., Dealva Shields, Bennie Mae Brock, Rosezenna Roberts, Barbara Jean Roberts, Daisy Roberts all of Savannah, Georgia, Viola Dixon of Trenton, New Jersey, Mary Francis Thomas and Earnestine McCray of Screven, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and sorrowing friends.  

Funeral service with military honors will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Community Chapel Funeral Home, (2524 S. US Highway 341 Jesup, GA 31546), with Rev. Dr. Christopher S. West officiating.

Public viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Community Chapel Funeral Home (2524 S US Highway 341, Jesup, GA 31546).
