Mr. Jeffery L. Lanier

Jeffery Leon Lanier was born on April 20, 1961, in Jesup, Ga to Racine Carter and Willie Reddish Jr. Jeff attended Wayne County High School and Altamaha Technical College where he received his CDL license and pursued a career in truck driving, a job he loved until his retirement. Jeffery was loving, kindhearted, and very generous, never met a stranger; he would do anything he could to help anyone he could help. Jeff loved smiling, showing off his white teeth. Jeffery passed away after an extended illness, Sunday, October 29, 2023.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Lanier, his parents, Racine Carter, and Willie Reddish Jr. His grandparents, Alma, and Roscoe Ingrams. Three brothers, Tony (Jake) Reddish, Willie Reddish III, and George Lanier. One sister, Willie Lee Reddish.

Those left to cherish his memories his loving wife, Ann Lanier; his children, Darantay Green (Jessica), Chanel Robin Jones (Mike) and Kyle Bailey. His sisters, June Atkinson, Cynthia Kelly (Ray), Jesup, Ga, Demetra Barner (Steve); four brothers, James Lanier (Racheal), Ricky Reddish, Jesup, Ga., Frederick Reddish Sr., Atlanta Ga. And Theren Lanier, Odum, Ga.; his two aunts, Winell Ivory, and Rudine Beal; one uncle, Edward Ingram; his mother– in–law, who affectionately called “Ma,” Annie Williams; his nine grandchildren, Josiah, Bryson, DJ, Godness, Ethan, Hunter, Hayden, Jordan, and Hunter; his God children Amani Fullmore, Grayson Johnson (Carelle), Maurice Thomas and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many close friends who will miss him tremendously.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Emory Chapel Methodist, (311 N. Hickory, Jesup, GA 31545), with Pastor Vincent Beal.

Mr. Lanier will lie in repose from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to funeral time. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2023, at the Community Chapel Funeral Home of Jesup.
