Willie James Verdell was born on January 18, 1951, in Jenning, Florida to the late Alice Verdell and Johnny Verdell. He was Elementary Schooling and always liked to work in the Tobacco Field, Wayneline and King & Prince. Willie devoted his life to Christ 28 years of age. He liked to look at Football and Baseball teams, but he loved Church. His life was spared by the grace of God in a house fire which he lost his mother in the fire. He loved his family his telephone. He spent his final years in Altamaha Nursing home.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents Alice and Johnny Verdell; two brothers: Ike and Johnny Verdell, Sr.; three sisters: Lorine Verdell Bryant, Alberta V. Densen, and Beatrice V. Cherry; nieces: Demetrice Johnson, Marie Cherry, Alice Denson; Nephew, Jody Densen; his grandmother, Ethel Burgess Gachee.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters: Beatrice (Renael) Williams of Minnesota; he has 17 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren; one sister, Jackie Verdell (John) Smith, Screen, GA; one brother, Tommy Verdell Gynracus, N. I.; a niece, Cynthia Verdell of Hinesville, GA; nephew, Donald Cherry, Sr. of Virginia; mother that raised them as her own. and a cousin that loved him very much, Betty Ruth Burgess of Jasper, Fla; Donnell Wright of Screven, GA and Dave Cobbs Altamaha Nursing Home; a host of nieces, nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Community Chapel Funeral Home of Jesup (2524 S US 341, Jesup, GA 31546) with Rev. Willie F. Davis officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Community Chapel Funeral Home of Jesup (2524 S US 341, Jesup, GA 31546).
