Ms. Alfreda Simmons Ansley

Mrs. Alfreda Simmons Ansley was born on May 20, 1934, in Pembroke, Georgia to the late Mr. Willie Simmons Sr. and Mrs. Edna Richardson Simmons. She and her family were members of Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Pembroke, Georgia. After the death of her father, her mother moved the family to Jesup, GA. where she attended Wayne County Training School.

She was married twice and was preceded in death by both husbands: Mr. Leroy James Harris and Mr. Samuel Lee Ansley.

She passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, while under Hospice care at the Waycross Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her devoted children; Ms. Marlene Harris of Savannah, GA, Mrs. Charlene Harris Brown of Pembroke, GA, Mr. LaRoy Harris Sr. (Cynthia) of Hinesville, GA, Mr. Rick L. Ansley of Brunswick, GA, Ms. Shelly Ansley of Waycross, GA; her sister Mrs. Catherine Simmons Thomas (Henry) of Atlanta, GA; her loving grandchildren; Mr. Nicholas Brown, Ms. Vanessa Brown, Ms. Tiffany Gibbs Gibson(Tereka), Mr. Roderick Durden (Lydia), Mrs. Loreal Harris Flanagan (Victor), LaRoy Harris II, and six loving great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Community Chapel Funeral Home of Jesup (2524 S US Highway 341, Jesup, GA 31546) with Bishop Ernest L. Huntley officiating.  

Ms. Ansley will lie repose at Community Chapel Funeral Home, from 12:00 p.m. until funeral time.  

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Community Chapel Funeral Home of Jesup (2524 S US Highway 341, Jesup, GA 31546).
