Pastor Sarah Jenkins

Pastor Sarah Jenkins passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023. She was 85 years old. Anyone who knew her loved her. She always greeted everyone with a smile, words of comfort and a prayer to lift their spirit.

Pastor Sarah Jenkins was born in Lake City, Florida on April 10, 1937, to the late Ellen Brown; she was the oldest of the three siblings, Mattie and Eddie Gore.

On July 27, 1953, she married the love of her life Randolph Jenkins, Sr and they were married for over 64 years and had 6 children.

She loved her Lord and Savior, her family, and the community. In her Christian path, she became the Pastor of the Pentecostal Miracle Deliverance Center. She was the Founder and Pastor of Upon this Rock Church. In addition, she loved serving the community. She founded the True Believers House of Prayer to provide food and clothing to the homeless community. She was a member and Chaplin of the Wayne County Ministerial Alliance.

She was preceded in death by her husband Randolph Jenkins, Sr, and her sons Raydolph Jenkins and Robert Jenkins.

She is survived by her children Randolph Jenkins, JR (Deborah) of Rochester, NY; Rudolph Jenkins (Pam) of Hartford, CT; Randall Jenkins, and Regina Jenkins (Aaron) of Jesup, GA. She is also survived by her sibling, Eddie Gore of Jesup, GA and preceded in death by her sister, Mattie Gudnaitis. She cherished 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of family and friends.

Pastor Jenkins is remembered with deep respect and love by the community of faith who have had the honor to call her their pastor.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Empowerment City Church, (256 N Macon St, Jesup, GA 31545), with Pastor Kendall Shaw officiating. 

Pastor Jenkins will lie in repose from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
